Adolescents & Teens

My experience with working with adolescents, teens, and young adults and their families is extensive through practical and educational knowledge.  I have previously held the position as the team lead school based therapist for an entire county.  I have worked with clients who have experienced trauma, sexual assault, physical and sexual abuse/molestation, bullying (both perpetrators and victims), suicidal ideations, self-harm, behavioral issues, self-esteem issues, anxiety (general, social, etc.), depression, issues with sexual identity, adjustment issues, LGBTQ+, school related problems and issues choosing a career path, issues defining who they are, and a PLETHORA of other issues.

Challenges adolescents are facing these days:

  • Most socialization is done via social media (i.e. SnapChat, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc)

  • Bullying

  • College admissions

  • Academic performance/perfectionism

  • Time management/study skills

  • Self-esteem/self-identity

  • Social skills

  • Rebellion/individuation

  • Parent/child relationships

  • Dating/healthy relationships

  • Sexual orientation/gender identity

  • Establishing healthy boundaries/assertiveness
