My name is Arielle Feggins and I am the founder of Alabama Center for Individual & Family Therapy, LLC.  I am an Associate Licensed Counselor supervised by Tia Harden, and created ACIFT to serve as a safe place where individuals, couples, and families can increase their quality of life and emotional and mental health status.  I hold a Bachelor's in Psychology, a Master's in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Clinical Psychology, and a Doctoral Level certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. My goal is to utilize interventions that have been proven to make changes in order to serve the clients that I work with.

I have worked extensively with adolescents/teens and their families as a former school-based therapist, and with individuals as a trauma therapist.

More about me:

I am a native of Chicago, IL, but should now be considered an honorary southern bell.  I love to learn and am a firm believer that there is always something more to know.  I love tacos and coffee and spending time with family.

I have worked extensively with adolescents/teens and their families as a former school-based therapist.  I also have extensive work as a trauma therapist for clients who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, or any other traumatic experiences. I am not an "and how does that make you feel" cliche therapist. My goal is to assist you or your loved one in overcoming challenges and viewing things from a different perspective. In my sessions, the client is the expert.  There is no one that knows what works and does not work for you better than YOU! We will work as a team as you work diligently toward your goals.

Meet Therapist Kaylee

LMSW

image.jpg

My name is Kaylee Newton and I am a therapist at Alabama Center for Individual and Family Therapy, LLC. I received my Bachelor and Master degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama (roll tide) and am a licensed Master Level Social Worker. I decided from a young age to pursue this field and never looked behind me! I have always been passionate about mental health and believe all people should have equal access to mental health care and deserve to feel seen, heard, and loved.

During my education I was able to work several years with people experiencing homelessness at a shelter as well as those struggling with drug and alcohol misuse at a primary healthcare clinic. I have also had the opportunity to work with children in the foster care system in North Alabama. Following graduation, I got on a plane to Indonesia where I spent a few months volunteering with different organizations.

During my free time I’m either hanging out with friends, traveling, going to a thrift store, eating spicy food, or *trying* to learn a new skill. Most of all, I have always loved meeting new people. Nothing is cooler than meeting a person who lived a completely different life than me but seeing how as humans we still share common feelings and desires. I truly believe every person is unique and can offer so much to the world. I’m grateful and excited to be a part of ACIFT and get to know so many new faces and hear people’s stories, and grow as a person and clinician along the way!

Meet Therapist Natalie

LMSW

N. Guin.png

My name is Natalie Guin, and I am a part-time therapist at Alabama Center for Individual and Family Therapy, LLC.  I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work.  I completed my Master’s degree in Social Work at Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).  As a young girl, I remember making the promise to myself that I was going to be a person that helped others because I did not want to see people hurting.  I did not know what that meant at the time, but when social work was introduced to me, my passion was awakened; and, I am now fulfilling my purpose.

Throughout my years as a mental health provider, I have worked with adults and adolescents.  I started my journey in mental health in 2008 at UAB Community Psychiatry Program.  I worked as the Intake Coordinator, and once I completed my BSW, I began working with the UAB REACT Program. There I became a case manager for the severely mentally ill and homeless population. Upon completion of my Master’s Degree, I became a Psychiatric Social Worker at the UAB Community Psychiatry Program and later transferred to UAB Community Psychiatry Day Treatment Program.  In 2018, I transitioned from UAB Community Psychiatry to the Alabama Department of Correction as the Mental Health Site Program Manager for Birmingham Community Based Facility/Birmingham Work Release.

I am a compassionate social worker, and believe everyone has the capacity to overcome their greatest challenges.  I apply an integrated therapeutic approach in therapy that includes using various methods to address the individual’s needs including:  motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, solution focused, and strength-based therapy.

During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading a good book, learning a new skill and spending time with my fur babies.  I truly believe we can work together to help you accomplish your goals!

LICSW

My name is Rasheda L. Long, LICSW.  I am a contract therapist with ACIFT. I am a first generation Social Worker earning my BSW and MSW from The illustrious Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University. I am originally from Tuscaloosa, AL (and yes, Roll Tide). I have always had a heart for helping and caring for others; especially my family. I consider myself a “Professional Auntie” as I’ve been in that role since I was 4; and ironically that is what got me into the field of social work, my nieces. Without going into details, a situation with them left me feeling powerless to help them and hopeless that anything that would ever be done. Due to circumstances out of their and my control, at the time, I vowed to go into a field that puts me in a position to help others like them and be what I didn’t have growing up.  It is while exploring career options during my freshman year at A&M that I discovered the field of social work and the numerous ways I can positively impact their and others lives. I’ve been in love with the field ever since have been able to change many lives including my own.

Since going into the field of mental health upon graduating with my MSW back in 2016, I have grown to realize how much mental health plays a key role in our overall health.. It impacts almost every domain of our lives. I have worked as a school based therapist within Huntsville, AL from 2016-2017 and an outpatient therapist in Fayetteville, TN from 2017 into the present. I received my LMSW in June 2018 and recently received my LICSW for AL in June 2021; and reciprocity in the state of  TN January 2021. I have been honored to take on a contract position with ACIFT as I truly believe in the mission, values, and culture for serving our community’s mental and emotional health needs. It is my hope that I can build on and assist our clients along their mental health journey by bringing on my professional experience, relatability, wittiness, positive attitude, unique personality, creativity, innovative approaches, and life impactful character traits. I look forward to working with you and your family.
